Anne Markey is a director of Phelan Architects, founded in 2009 with her husband Brendan Phelan. Phelan Architects is a new practice with the drive, enthusiasm, commitment and passion that young practices have, allied to the experience that we have gained in collectively working at Michael Hopkins & Partners, EPR Architects, Greenhill Jenner and Studio Daniel Libeskind.
In addition to being a director of Phelan Architects, Anne also heads up ASD Projects within the Department of Architecture and Spatial Design at London Metropolitan University.
Immediately prior to setting up ASD Projects, Anne worked for Studio Daniel Libeskind as executive architect for the new Graduate Centre at London Metropolitan University.
From 1990 to 2002 Anne was a director of Greenhill Jenner Architects when she was responsible for the design and delivery of a number of new-build projects in the public sector.

St Luke's Mission, Millwall

St Luke's Church project seeks to provide new accommodation to continue the mission of the church in Millwall on the Isle of Dogs. The project is unique in bringing Christian and Muslim faith groups together and has been self-funded by the development of affordable housing on part of the site. The project includes a new church, a community hall, prayer facilities for a Muslim group and community offices in addition to 22 housing units on a tight urban site.
