The concept's central theme is the conjunction between interior and exterior space. Generous terraces surround the house and fall into line with the naturally shifting terrain. The historic quarrystone walls are continued as stairs in the interior space, allowing the rooms directed towards the sea to reach an extraordinary height. The open succession of rooms - dining area, the kitchen, the living room and patio - connects the different areas of life.
Do you think our profession is diverse enough? | The profession of 'architect' involves a wide range of concerns. The variety of projects is caused by the diversity of our clients. One could be a private client, the next could be a concern, or the city government with a commission to plan flats or to design an urban space. |
What do you find most rewarding in your area of work? | Architecture in itself is diverse because of its positioning between art (as in work of art) and architecture (as a construction of living space). For us, there are no borders between the two and we couldn't call ourselves architects if we didn't also consider ourselves artists. |
How have your clients and projects benefited from your involvement? | Every client is being treated with the same intensity. An individual approach and personal interaction is essential for our workflow. We place special emphasis on location-based working and always keep our work stages replicable. |
