I studied at St Mary Redcliffe & Temple School Bristol and the School of Architecture at Bath University in the 1980s and 1990s; learning compassion and conviction at the former, tenacity and resolve at the later.
I worked hard as an apprentice architect in some of the UK's leading classical and conservation practices, before I established my own studio, now in its tenth year of life, in East London. The people of the area, their diverse values and myriad aspirations, are my unfailing inspiration and the most precious construction resource that I will ever have the honour to work with as an architect.

If you could change one thing in our profession, what would it be? I would like the profession to allow the sparkle of some positive energy and enthusiasm to demonstrate itself in our work a lot more - it could only help engage more people with our work and help enliven the process of making great architecture.
What do you find most rewarding in your area of work? I have always enjoyed the process of architecture - the sense of togetherness that happens on the very best projects when all the team players, who cover a diverse range of interests and occupations, are truly dedicated to creating a great building. The client ends up with a really groovy piece of architecture, the architect with a sense of creative satisfaction.
How have your clients and projects benefited from your involvement? I believe my clients, with the help of my architect's aesthetic eye and professional judgement, have ownership of a beautiful space and a sound construction that is of quality and worth, and that together we have created a building that truly reflects their needs and aspirations.
