Capita Architecture (previously Ruddle Wilkinson Architects) Education and Special Projects team was founded in 2004 by Clare Devine and young ambitious members with a vision of designing creative and enjoyable learning environments. We have developed extensive experience of building design as a team, particularly across the whole range of the education sector.
We work closely with our clients from the outset to understand and reflect their ethos and vision. Our creative engagement programmes help to develop a strong sense of ownership for each project among students, staff and the local community. Clients are able to explore a wide range of issues with our team through the design and engagement process, from architectural identity to sustainability
Team members include Clare Devine, Joanne Stevens, Jooeun Sung, Justyna Rzeszotarska, Lesley Cooper, Sanda Boson, Colleen Yuen, and Jonna Kappi. We also enjoy working with other members: Robert Edgar, Declan Fallon, Martin Glover, and Mark Davies.

Basildon Academies
The project, comprising a Lower and an Upper Academy on two separate sites, is to develop the extended school status to provide facilities for the current and future needs and aspirations of the local community in East Basildon, as well as to provide an educational transformation to the school for a new generation. The new educational model was delivered by a simple and adaptable layout developed by the design team working with the school and sponsor.
