Celsiusterrassen, Hamburg Bahrenfeld.

This was the winner of a 2009 competition, now under construction. A contemporary interpretation of structure and appearance of the traditional district of Bahrenfeld, it comprises a mixture of housing and commerce in a red brick render. To make a neighbourhood of living and industrial working possible, we chose a strip-like structure: a hybrid mixed-use building makes the separation acoustically and visually possible. As a folded track, it is stands between housing and industrial areas with bands of different public spaces.

How does diversity of people reveal itself at work? Planning always means handling the diversity of relationships - the relationship of space and buildings as well as the relationships between all the people involved in the planning process - while preserving my idea.
Who are your role models who inspire you? My first 'boss wife' and how she handled being a 'woman in architecture'.
If you could change one thing in our profession, what would it be? Time.
